Elimination Diet, Day 40 (Challenge Phase, Part 2 – Dairy)

I ate dairy today! While I have reached the point where I wasn’t missing it too much, cheese tastes awesome. Today I stuck to more easily digestible dairy: yogurt, cheese, and a little bit of grass-fed cream. Goat products and ghee would also be good options. I am holding off on just drinking a straight glass of milk for a few days.

For buying dairy products, look for grass-fed. Milk should be non-homogenized if possible. Whether you want to go with raw dairy, which some people find easier to digest, is up to you. It is a pretty controversial topic and can be hard to find. Making your own dairy products is of course preferred, but I learned that Dannon All Natural Plain Yogurt (full fat) has NOTHING but milk in it. No sugar, no flavor, not even pectin. And Daisy Sour Cream also has nothing but milk, while most sour creams have a long list of ingredients. I also stuck with white cheeses; no need for coloring yet. Basically, just look for the purest dairy ingredients that you can.

I had fun with the shea butter last night. As a result, but skin is looking and feeling fairly good. Still a little irritation, but good for the most part.

Breakfast: Yogurt with maple syrup and peanut butter (this was SO good!)
Lunch: Sunflower Seed Burger with cheese, sweet potato fries
Dinner: Garlic Mashed Cauliflower, chicken breast, peas.
Snacks: Pear, strawberries, peanut butter

I cooked up a spaghetti squash for lunch tomorrow (as well as dinner on Wednesday).
